Delphine Valli

Delphine Valli was born in Champigny-sur-Marne (France) in 1972. She lives and works between France and Italy, in Rome.
In 2002 she graduated in Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. Here she is professor of Performative Techniques for the Visual Arts. She has been professor of Graphic Design in the frame of ArtLab Languages of Graphic Art, a joint M.A. program, Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and University of Tor Vergata, Rome.
Her research is the result of the fascination she felt in observing the surrounding space and of the desire to question the apparent immutability of things. Delphine Valli explores the tensions between artistic intervention and space, involving the latter as a plastic element. With the term sculpture she identifies an interest that revolves around space, its intrinsic qualities – visible and not – and to an outcome that does not bring into play symbolic values but a connection with the very nature of our experience.
She was selected for the "Mark / Draw" Youth Award of the National Academy of San Luca in Rome in 2009. In 2010, she won the Competition for Public Works of the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport for the construction and permanent status of a monumental sculpture in the new headquarters of the Subiaco Fire Department (RM). Artist in residence since 2015 at the BO_CS in Cosenza and in 2011 with the Residenza Project in Hangzhou, China.
