Davide Dormino

Davide Dormino was born in Udine in 1973. He lives and works in Rome.
His work ranges mainly between sculpture and drawing. Davide Dormino seeks for new forms through a continuous research on the lyrical and plastic possibilities of materials such as marble, bronze and iron.
In his public and environmental artworks, he is concerned with a search for monumentality, like in Poltergeist:, 2019. He also looks for the possession of the space, as in Naviganti_Monument to imagination, 2017.
In each of his works it appears a research of meaning, through the reference at fundamental human issues (Atlante:, 2019).
He has created works of environmental art in Italy and abroad. Among them Breath:, 2011, commissioned by the United Nations, and permanent in the North Lawn of the U.N. building in New York. “Anything to say?” is an itinerant sculpture dedicated to the courage and freedom of expression that began its journey from Berlin (Alexanderplatz) on 1 May 2015. Later this work moved to fifteen European capitals. For this work he received the 2016 Prix Èthique from the French organization AntiCor.
He teaches Drawing, Sculpture and Installation at the Rome University of Fine Arts R.U.F.A.
