Alessandro Piangiamore was born in Enna, Sicily, in 1976. He lives and works in Rome.
In his work, the attempt to crystallize the ephemeral, the evanescent, is recurrent, through a practical approach to the material that, as the artist claims, allows him to adhere to reality and an understanding of it. His practice always maintains an intimate and poetic dimension that often leaves the state of the final form to chance.
He has been selected for numerous residencies as: Residency at Khoj Studio, New Delhi (India), 2010; Residency at Centre International d’Accueil et d’Echanges des Récollets, Paris, 2007. He won numerous prizes as: Prize of The Cité internationale de la tapisserie, Aubusson (France), 2015; 16th Premio Cairo, Cairo Editore, Milan, 2015.
