Gianni Politi was born in Rome in 1986. He lives and works in Rome.
He studied Philosophy at “La Sapienza di Roma”.
Politi through the use of classical materials from the painting tradition has developed a practice around the essence of being a contemporary painter today.
The Studio is a both place and inspiration that the artist uses to create his works that range from classical oil paintings to bronze and paper works.
The artist tries to redefine the nature of abstraction today while charging his works with personal experiences and reflections around history and sexuality.
Using traditional images and gestures the artist has created a strong mythology around the materials he uses and exploits.
He showed his works in various institutions and galleries including the Galleria Nazionale d Arte Moderna di Roma, Nomas Foundation, the American Academy of Rome and the Italian Cultural Council of Prague.
His work is represented by the Gallery Lorcan O’Neill in Rome.
